This is more of a food planner than anything, something so that I can remind myself what I want to do. Women are supposed to eat between 1,800 and 2,200 calories a day. When I pick up a soda, or a snack that says “only 100 calories”, I think, “that’s not very much!”. The truth is, these things add up. I’d say that I have between 4-8 snacks a day. That’s 400-800 calories right there! Since a meal can be over 500 calories, that can easily overflow the calorie jar! A can of coke is 250 calories, or 12.5% of a 2,000 calorie diet. And I’ll admit, I love my coke.
So what to do? I’ve recently been stocking my house with healthier alternatives to soda, like diet drinks and V8. Now, instead of going for an Oreo, I’m going for a walk. Just by not snacking, I can cut my calorie intake by half, which is what I want.
I’m a foodie, and I have no intention of giving up on my lifestyle. There are many things that are healthy, full of nutrition, and low in calories and fats. For lunch, I had a goat cheese and tomato sandwich, and it was a delicious 400 calories!
